Daniel FRICKER
CEO & Founder
Daniel is the CEO & Founder of Alpina Capital AG, where he is overseeing investment solutions within a full range of asset classes, from sustainable direct investments, to multi asset funds and alternative funds. Prior to founding Alpina Capital, Daniel spent over 17 years on the investment side, where he worked for Bank Julius Baer in the Investment Advisory and Equity Strategy. Since 2001, he worked for 14 years at Falcon Private Bank, where he had the full responsibility in managing a full range of multi asset funds, with a proven track record. Daniel spent more than ten years in the Asset Management division of the bank in the equity and multi asset team. He holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Banking & Finance from the FHNW in Zurich.
Andrin Holzer
Business Development
Upon becoming part of Alpina Capital, Andrin took on the role of business development, with the goal of further enhance the current business development and drive new strategies together with the CEO & Founder Daniel Fricker. During the past years he has worked on multiple insurance projects regarding the newly implemented reporting standards IFRS 17/9 and advised LGT Capital Partners in their first steps into sustainability and ESG commitment. He is currently working on his master’s degree in Accounting and Finance at the university of St. Gallen, where he previously finished the Bachelor of Business Administration.
Timon Sitte
Portfolio Manager
Timon Sitte has accumulated ten years of professional investment experience. He initiated his career in Investment Banking at Credit Suisse, specializing in debt and equity derivatives. Subsequently, Timon dedicated six years to Trinity Street Asset Management in London, working within a small investment team responsible for overseeing a multibillion-dollar fund focused on global equity markets. In 2022, Timon established and led Orcade Capital, an organization with global investments spanning various asset classes. Timon is an alumnus of Imperial College London, where he earned a degree in Geophysics.
Rudolf bohli
Portfolio Manager
Rudolf Bohli has over twenty-five years of investment experience. He founded and managed the RBR Capital Advisors Hedge Fund from 2003 to 2018. RBR Funds achieved compounded double-digit returns, reaching peak assets of CHF 800 million. The fund received numerous awards, including HFM and Investors Choice, and received several nominations for the best European L/S equity by Eurohedge. Rudolf spearheaded several groundbreaking activist campaigns to enhance shareholder returns at underperforming companies, including Gategroup, GAM Holding, and Credit Suisse. He is a graduate of ETH Zurich, holding a degree in Electrical Engineering.
LAWRENCE A. SAUTTER
Portfolio Manager
Lawrence A. Sautter has more than 30 years of investment experience. Before joining Alpina, Lawrence has been active as an Independent Investment Advisor and as investment manager at BVG Auffangeinrichtung and AXA Winterthur for two years, before he was director and fund manager at Falcon Private Bank in Zürich (former: AIG Private Bank Ltd.), where he served as the Lead Fund Manager for Global Equity Portfolios. He joined the bank in 2001 after a variety of institutional and private asset management roles at companies such as ABN Amro Private Bank Zürich, Swiss Bank Corporation (UBS) Zürich and SBC PMI London starting his investment career at Credit Suisse head office Zürich and St. Moritz in 1985. He graduated from the Swiss Institute for Business Administration and the Zürich Business School. From 2009-2019 he was a Board Member of NAC CISI Advisory Committee Switzerland. In 2009 he got the Chartered MCSI designation.
INAS KUBBA
Executive Assistant / Legal
Inas is Executive Assistant / Legal at Alpina Capital, she holds a pivotal position in coordinating internal operations, providing support to the CEO and ensuring the seamless flow of business activities. At the same time, she is also responsible for legal affairs. Inas provides 11 years of work experience the educational and services space, before joining Alpina Capital. Her educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Business Law from ZHAW, and she is currently pursuing a Master of Law degree at the University of Lucerne, which equips her with a strong foundation in legal expertise to enhance our team's capabilities.
Andreas Escher
Legal & Compliance
Andreas Escher is working in Legal & Compliance in strong collaboration with our external legal & compliance partner Invest Law AG, which is bearing the legal & compliance responsibility for Alpina Capital. He is also a Paralegal and General Manager with Caero. He is involved in preparing market research, which is the foundation of strategic decision making, with a special emphasis on laws pertaining to renewable energy. Prior to joining Caero & Alpina. He is completing a law degree from the University of Zürich, Switzerland.
Michael Luchs
Structuring Specialist
Michael is a Structuring Specialist at Alpina Capital AG, he provides strong structuring skills obtained while gaining experience at multiple financial firms. Next to that has a strong track record in real estate transactions in Switzerland. Michael is involved with multiple Swiss corporations assisting to structure their financial solutions.

Marketing
Aline provides more than 13 years of professional working experience with a background in Marketing and Communications within various companies and sectors. Prior joining Alpina Capital Aline worked at Swiss Life AG and was responsible for a number of events in the broker channel management. Furthermore, she was project owner of the Swiss Life Academy. Aline graduated from HWZ University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich.

Patrick Huber
Manager Alpina Swiss Opportunity Fund
Partner Santro Invest AG
Since May 2017, Patrick is responsible for the management of the Alpina Swiss Opportunity Fund. He also supports Santro Invest AG in the selection of Swiss equities. Patrick has more than 20 years of experience in active portfolio management of Swiss equities as well as several years as a financial analyst and financial controller. Before joining Santro Invest AG, he worked for Mirabaud Asset Management and Lombard Odier Asset Management, among others. Kühne & Nagel International AG is also one of his stations. He holds a Master in Corporate Finance from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
Johannes Borner
CIO & Head of Research Santro Invest AG
Johannes has been CIO of Santro Invest AG since 2012 and is responsible for company analysis. He worked at various brokers and has more than 20 years of experience in the Swiss equity market. Most recently, he was head of equity research at Bank am Bellevue. Johannes studied literature and economics at the University of Bern.
John Hathaway
Sprott-Alpina Gold Fund Manager / Sprott
John Hathaway joined Sprott in January 2020. Mr. Hathaway is a Portfolio Manager of Co-Portfolio Manager of the Sprott Gold Equity Fund. Previously, he joined Tocqueville Asset Management L.P. in 1997 where he was a Co-Portfolio Manager of the Tocqueville Gold Fund. Prior to joining Tocqueville, Mr. Hathaway co-founded and managed Hudson Capital Advisors. In 1976, he joined the investment advisory firm David J. Greene and Company, where he became a Partner. Mr. Hathaway began his career in 1970 as an Equity Analyst with Spencer Trask & Co. Mr. Hathaway earned a B.A. from Harvard College and an MBA from the University of Virginia. He also holds the CFA® designation.
Douglas Groh
Sprott-Alpina Gold Fund Manager / Sprott
Douglas Groh joined Sprott Asset Management in January 2020. He serves as a Co-Portfolio Manager of the Sprott Gold Equity Fund as well as other investment vehicles in the Sprott Gold Equity Strategy. Previously, Mr. Groh was a Portfolio Manager at Tocqueville Asset Management L.P. Prior to joining Tocqueville, he was Director of Investment Research at Grove Capital from 2001-2003. From 1990-2001, he held investment research and banking positions at J.P. Morgan, Merrill Lynch, and ING Bank. During the late 1980s, Mr. Groh served as a portfolio manager of gold mining equity funds for U.S. Global Investors and IDS Financial Services, after beginning his career as a mining and precious metals analyst in 1985 at U.S. Global Investors. Mr. Groh earned a B.S. in Geology/Geophysics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and an M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, where he focused on mineral economics.

Thomas is Founder & Managing Partner at Witt GmbH in Zollikon, Zürich. He advises Alpina Capital as an expert in quantitative analysis on the Alpina Witt U.S. Macro portfolio. Thomas provides more than 15 years of investment experience with a strong track record in computer based trend analysis. Prior to founding Witt GmbH he headed a division at a medium sized technology company where he emphatically advanced systematic analysis and digitization.
Ariel Burt
Renewable Energy Advisor / CAERO
Ariel Burt is a Managing Partner and Founder of CAERO. She is focused on business development and new opportunities across Asia, Europe and America. Ms. Burt is currently predominately active in the western European and Asian market, by spearheading CAERO’s ventures together with local teams, as well as the active management of the development activities. She is experienced in planning large-scale mixed use master plan projects for cities and districts globally, as well as in the planning and realisation of complex architectural buildings. She has, in past, worked as an architect and later as a construction supervisor at several different leading architecture firms in Europe and the US.. She is an alumnus of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (Zurich) where she obtained her Master of Science ETH with a special focus in engineering and architecture.
Prof. Dr. Christian Kronseder
Indexing Advisor / Allindex AG
Prof. Dr. Christian Kronseder is an accomplished investment banker with 20y+ experience. He is a specialist in quantitative finance and for building client focused platforms in equity derivatives, indexing and trading strategies. Christian recently started as a guest professor for data science in life sciences at the life sciences department of the University of Applied Sciences North West in Switzerland. He is also the CEO of ALLINDEX, a leader in platform driven index and investment trading strategies R&D.
