Marcel Hug

Chairman of the Board

Marcel Hug has extensive international experience in financial services (banking, insurance, asset & fund management) covering the entire value chain from client relationship management, product structuring, investment management to finance, risk management and compliance. He brings to our Board more than 30 years of experience in all major asset classes, with a particular focus on private equity, real estate and infrastructure.

Marcel started his career at UBS (Group Risk Management, Structured Trade & Commodity Finance) and in recent years has supported several regulated financial services companies as a board member, chief executive officer, chief financial officer, chief risk officer or advisor (strategy, operations, finance).

Marcel holds a Master of Arts in Economic Policy and Environmental Economics from the University of St. Gallen.

Daniel Fricker

CEO & Founder

Daniel is the CEO & Founder of Alpina Capital AG, where he is overseeing investment solutions within a full range of asset classes, from sustainable direct investments, to multi asset funds and alternative funds. Prior to founding Alpina Capital, Daniel spent over 17 years on the investment side, where he worked for Bank Julius Baer in the Investment Advisory and Equity Strategy. Since 2001, he worked for 14 years at Falcon Private Bank, where he had the full responsibility in managing a full range of multi asset funds, with a proven track record. Daniel spent more than ten years in the Asset Management division of the bank in the equity and multi asset team. He holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Banking & Finance from the FHNW in Zurich.

Stephan Hofer

Board of Directors

Stephan Hofer has been in banking for over two decades. Advising entrepreneurs and professional clients at IHAG Privatbank, Zürich and formerly a partner at BZ Bank, Wilen.

On the sell-side until 2015 working for Berenberg focusing on European equities, prior to that for William Blair & Company, L.L.C. focusing on US growth companies.

He also managed various mutual funds for AIG Private Bank and started his career at HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) S.A. in portfolio management.

Stephan Hofer studied Business Administration at Zurich University of Applied Sciences majoring in Banking & Finance.
